Lewis In Wonderland
Synopsis

Bringing together elements of music, dance and theatre, Lewis in Wonderland shines new light on Carroll's sad and wonderful life. Stammering, shy and socially inept, Carroll bursts into joyous absurdity as he creates wonderland for Alice Liddell.

Flying between repressed reality and the freedom of his imagination, this is a stylish, poignant and ultimately thrilling new play.

Devised by the company for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2003

Reviews

"Particularly moving... winning choreographed... remarkably sympathetic"

- Maddy Costa, TheGuardian

“A sensitive, beautifully acted portrayal of a remarkable man at odds with Victorian society”

- The Daily Mail

“Variously making the audience laugh, bringing them to the edge of tears and stirring their anger at the stultifying conventionality of some of the 25 characters, this very talented young cast [...] mix together the real and the surreal to create a very satisfying whole."

- Peter Latham, British Theatre Guide
